Layers of discussion

As a third grade teacher and a mother I love this book! It not only discusses reflecting and apologizing if you are unkind, but emphasizes the importance of doing kind things when it’s hard. We all need a plan to identify what triggers us and what helps us stay kind. I also appreciate that the Principal has “kindness kicks” too because adults struggle sometimes to stay calm and use kind words too. I will definitely read this to my class and child for years to come.

Kindness kicks deserves a place in all libraries

"Nella's Kindness Kicks" is a wonderful book where children can see that it is ok to make mistakes and how we can fix those mistakes through kindness. After reading the book over and over - the language of the book has seeped into our morning routine checking for our kindness kicks and helping to think about how we can show kindness when we are struggling. We feel so grateful to have this book as a part of our library!

Poor behavior can lead to sticky situations'

Got this book as a gift for a special 5 year old girl. She grasped the message after the first read and has requested many repeat reads since. She said, "Sometimes when I am not kind I feel as yucky as the bottom of those sticky shoes." An entertaining story that drives home the concept of manners, kindness, and the power of a good apology. Beautifully illustrated which makes each turn of the page a true pleasure. Highly recommend for all the impressionable young ones on your life.

My girls just love this book! This would be a great gift for your child’s teacher or school librarian. Any way that we could encourage more kindness to our children the better. This is a sweet, easy to follow story that truly help kids understand the meaning of being kind.

Kindness Really Does Kick

This is such a sweet book for kids to understand the power of kindness. The illustrations of Nella's kicks sticking really sends home the point that when one isn't kind one really does get stuck. It is also great how the minor characters overlook Nella and are kind to her regardless of her bad choices. Definitely is one of my go to books when teaching my students during our SEL block.

Love to gift this book

After receiving one of these books from a dear friend, my heart soared. I shared it with my 7 kids and tears were in their eyes. I witnessed the power of this book, the power of kindness and bravery. I give this book as birthday presents to our young friends and the parents and kids absolutely love it. A fun loving book with a lesson of love and leadership.

Wonderful book

A must read for kids! Such a wonderful story about kindness and positivity. My daughter loves it and her classmates felt the same way. Great Book

My daughter asked us to read this book before bed for a month straight. She asked where she could get “kicks” like Nella. It also led to great conversations about being kind and using kind words/voice at home and school.

It's Cool To Be Kind!

I have enjoyed this book in many different ways. My fourth grade students loved hearing it as a read aloud! (They loved seeing the pictures and recreating their own illustrations also!) My grandchildren ages 2-9 also enjoyed the book, and have read it multiple times! What a great way to remind us all that being kind makes our world a better place. Thank you

Perfect for young children to visualize kindness Nella heads to school wearing her green, kindness kicks. No she is not stepping in gum, but rather getting stuck when she says or does something unkind. By correcting her actions she can become unstuck. What happens if Nella’s kicks get stuck too many times? The principal in the book is excellent, the representation is great, and I absolutely LOVED the ending. This is a must have on all bookshelves and in every elementary classroom.

My 4 year daughter loves this book! I have made it a point to read to my kids every night. It’s my favorite time of day. My son is now a teenager and past this stage but my daughter loves this book. I love the positive message of spreading kindness and that we need to think before we speak. We can either use words to build someone up or to tear them down. Love the theme

In today's day and age, we absolutely need to be training our youth about kindness. I think this book is a great introduction into how we can provide ourselves indicators of when we have fallen off and selfishness has set in. Thank you for writing this book! My kiddos have already read it multiple times and I'm sure will for years to come.

What I found the most fascinating was that it piqued their interest to the point of asking questions along the way. I bought a copy of this book to give to my very young grandson. It may be a while before he is able to fully grasp the meaning here but the good lessons will carry him far.

A great read for ALL!

NelliRose wrote a book that offers a great reminder for ALL of us about the necessity of thinking before we act and, above all else, being kind. The story is sweet and memorable. My kids love "the kicks book!" and the message is one that sticks =).

Wildfire Meets Kindness Kicks

I'm a firm believer that people come and go in one's life for a reason. While out one afternoon with my sister I had the pleasure of striking up a conversation with Ms. NelliRose. We had a delightful brief time sharing stories and found we had some commonalities as well.

When I found out she was an author of children's books I knew I had to order two of them for my grandchildren in two different states. I ordered on line and almost immediately NelliRose PM me to thank me for my purchase and to ask if I would like her to sign them for me - pretty special I thought!

A week later, two beautifully written and illustrated books arrived at my door with the sweetest hand written notes inside. I read the contents of the book and with today's uncertain times this book is just so touching and sweet, I feel everyone should read. We all need to show more KINDNESS in this world we live in.
